El Castellet.

From Orba we take a relatively short but tough walk to Orba Castle, also known as Awraba Castle or simply El Castellet. Orba Castle is located southwest of the town, on the Tossal del Puig hill, which is about 420 metres high. It is a building from the Islamic period, and is built with rammed earth and masonry. The plan is irregular. The Castellet guarded the entrance to the Rectoría and the Laguar valley and was conquered in 1245. A recent earthquake destroyed some more of the remaining ruins. From the top of the hill we have a very good view over the village of Orba and the mountain ranges Cavall and Segaria to the north, Seguili to the east, Penyó to the west and Carrascal de Parcent to the south. On the way we pass 3 more water sources: font de la Xopera, font de les Rabosses and Font dels Caus.

When I did this walk a second time, to check the route, they had started to put out the signposts for a new walk, the “PR-CV 185”. This could possibly affect my orientation, especially in the section on the way back to Orba. Here you should especially keep in the direction of Font de la Xopera. From there Orba is not far away.
