The Keuzemeersen.

The walk starts in the picturesque village of Afsnee and goes through the coulter of Afsnee and the Beelaertmeersen to the Goedinge bridge. This bridge is at least remarkable because it hangs under the bridge of the E40 motorway. Then we stroll along the banks of the Leie towards Sint-Martens-Latem. In a bend of the Leie is a bench where you should definitely enjoy the view of Sint-Martens-Latem and the activities on the water. Then we walk further into the Keuzemeersen where there are numerous birds such as the reed bunting, lapwing and yellow wagtail. We even saw a deer skipping through the meersen. A minus on this walking route is the permanent noise of traffic on the E40, but that does not outweigh the beautiful nature that radiates tranquility.
