Hayedo de Las Ilces

This walk goes from the beautiful village of Espinama through beautiful beech forests (Hayedo) along the Pierga path in the valley of the Deva to the hamlet of Las Ilces. Brown bears are said to live in these pristine forests at the foot of the Coriscao.

Pierga path.

The hike starts in Espinama and goes along the La Gatera path to the hamlet of Pido where time has stood still. After a short climb you walk on the Pierga path to the Arroyo de la Penalba, here you descend through a beautiful valley to the hamlet of Las Ilces where two old granaries can still be seen. Then it continues on beautiful paths through untouched beech and oak forests back to Espinama.
