Stiphout forests.

The hike goes through the Stiphout forests through the sub-areas Papenvoortse Heide and Geeneindse Heide. The moors and former shifting sands were originally planted in the 1920s as a production forest with scots pine and various spruce species. The forest area has now been transformed into an attractive walking area with a few heather remnants and a number of fens. The hike goes along twelve plus one of these fens. Twelve of the fens can be found on the current topographic maps, one thirteenth has disappeared from the topographic maps since 2000, which may no longer be seen as a bog. The fens also differ a lot, one is somewhat larger than the other, three even very small and three without a name. Depending on the rainfall, some of the fens may be dry after a longer dry period. Visited are the lake De Meer, three unnamed fens, the Witven, the Kamerven, a small fen the Half Moon (according to an old resident of Stiphout), the Schapengracht, the Kikkerven, the Wasven, the Kromven also called Eiven, the Kulkesven and Langdaalven.
