The stream valley of the Dommel south of the Wilhelmina canal consists of grasslands interspersed with woodlands, the hike goes through the grasslands and a beautiful path is followed along the Dommel. Just before Nederwetten, you will pass the Oude Toren the remains of a 15th-century parish church, which was demolished in 1898. The old name for Heerendonk-Breugelse Beemden was Wettens Broek or Broekbos near Nederwetten. De Breugelse Beemden is a small-scale landscape with moist meadows, interspersed with parcels of forest. At the end of the hike, a path is followed in Son along the Dommel, which leads to an old cemetery with a beautiful view of a church tower. This tower belonged to the church of Sint-Petrus-Banden, the construction of which started in 1460 and was completed after 1526. The church burned down on December 29, 1958. A storm in December 1960 brought an end to the old church. The church was demolished in 1966, only the tower remained as a ruin. The tower was restored in 1975 and a spire was also installed again.
