Wettens Broek.

The Dommel stream valley south of the Wilhelmina Canal consists of grasslands alternating with swamp forest. The walk goes through the grasslands and follows a beautiful path along the Dommel. Just before Nederwetten you pass the Oude Toren, the remains of a 15th-century parish church that was demolished in 1898. Both Wettens Broek and Breugelsche Beemden consist of small-scale landscapes with moist meadows, interspersed with plots of forest. Both areas are located near the hamlet of Heerendonk, or a high, dry bump in a pair of pants. At the end of the walk, a path is followed in Son along the Dommel that ends at an old cemetery with a beautiful view of a church tower. This tower belonged to the church of Sint-Petrus'-Banden, the construction of which began in 1460 and was completed after 1526. The church burned down on December 29, 1958. A storm in December 1960 put an end to the old church. In 1966 the church was demolished, only the tower remained as a ruin. In 1975 the tower was restored and a spire was also added.
