Walking tour in the Maasduinen National Park through the nature reserves Arcen Estate, the Ravenvennen and through Barbara's Weerd. The Leeremarksche Heide in nature reserve Arcen Estate and the Lommerheide and Schandelosche Heide in nature reserve Ravenvennen are varied forest areas with differences in height due to drifting dunes in various places, there is not much heathland to see, contrary to what the names suggest.

The Wittenberg.

The forest areas are rich in fens such as the Gelders Vlies in the Leeremarksche Heide. In the Schandelosche Heide, the hike goes through a large, beautifully situated fens complex, the Ravenvennen, with one of the highest dunes the Wittenberg. Walk up the Wittenberg for a beautiful view of the fen complex. Finally, the walk goes through a piece of floodplains of the Maas Barbara's Weerd, an area that consists of woods and grasslands grazed by Galloway cattle. As sights you will come across the Arcen castle, a stately double-enclosed stately home with exterior buildings. The current castle was built in the area of the original castle, with virtually nothing left. The current castle is known for its gardens. Furthermore, the Arcen estate leads past an ice cellar and the De Dolgaard maze, the remains of a so-called walled maze from the 17th early 18th century. The maze with an area of 100 by 125 meters is made up of paths with small walls in between. The paths and ramparts were each three meters wide, the ramparts had a height of about half a meter. At the end of the walking tour one passes the Wymarse Mill and a water mill founded in 1677. In 1944 the mill was badly damaged. The remnants continued to fall into disrepair until it was restored in 1990. De IJsvogel grain roasting mill is located in the mill.
