This walk in the Pyrenees National Park has as its theme the sparkling waterfalls of the Jéret valley. The route goes from La Raillère to the famous Pont d'Espagne in the shadow of the forest of Péguère along the banks of the river Gave de Marcadou. There is no shortage of waterfalls and rapids.
This walk starts under the Col du Tourmalet and the Pic du Midi where the famous observatory is located. You walk via a path to the rugged valley of the Bonida where you start a steep climb, via hairpin bends, to the Col d'Aoube. On the climb you get a nice panorama on the Lac Vert and Lac Blue. From the col you descend to these two emerald green lakes where you can have a picnic. In the summer you will also encounter large herds of sheep in this area. At the end of the lake you will be treated to a beautiful panorama of the Chiroulet and the valley of Lesponne. On this walk you will certainly be able to observe griffon vultures and other birds of prey.
A nice walk through the valley of D'Ilhéou with several herds of sheep and goats on the way. On the way you can admire the waterfall of D'Ilhéou. The view over the mountains and the lake, which is enclosed between the Grand Barbat, Pic Arrouy and the Pic de Cournounalas, is very beautiful. A walk next to the lake, also called Lac Bleu, certainly pays off.
