Les Hautes Chaumes.
You leave at the Auberge and follow a path that quickly takes you to a viewing platform. Here you have a nice overview of the vast high moor area, Les Hautes Chaumes. Just before the edge of the forest you turn in the direction of the steep wall above the Lac Blanc. At the source of the Lac Blanc you walk further in the direction of the viewing mountain Chäteau Hans. The statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary immediately stands out. From Château Hans it continues to the Observatoire Belmont, a rock overlooking the mountains on the other side of the valley of the Weiss. The vegetation obstructs the view of both lakes. You walk through a mixed forest on a forest path with an occasional view of the Lac Noir. You walk past the source of the Lac Noir. You leave the forest and you suddenly find yourself on mountain meadows with a beautiful view. You go right up to the Soultzeren Eck and then left again to the Taubenklangfelsen, high above the Lac du Forlet. A wide stony path takes you back to the starting point.
Avoid on weekends if possible.
