POI 1 - Oudler.

Oudler, given the etymology, would have been founded in the 5th or 6th century. Here Oud would refer to cleared land, and ler to residence. In 814 Oudler was first mentioned in writing as belonging to the parish of Thommen. In 1888 a railway bridge was built over the Ulf for the Vennbahn, which was opened in 1889 and formed the connection between the Ruhr area and Lorraine. In 1940 the bridge was blown up by the Belgian army to prevent the German troops from crossing. The Germans built a wooden bridge instead.
