Where the Grote and Kleine Kaliebeek flow together in Tielen, there is a vast swamp area. Absolute eye-catchers in the Balderij form the beautiful ponds. More lakes and ponds in the adjacent Rielens Gebroekt. You are amazed by the many lives around, on and in the water. The forest stream damsel, tree creeper and the kingfisher feel completely delighted here. Between junctions 48 and 47 you step over a wooden path through vast alder forests, very typical for this area. And the barracks that you pass along the way? This forms the home base for the third battalion paratroopers in Tielen.

In winter it can be very wet here, waterproof walking shoes or boots are a must.
