Lieropsche Heide and Strabrechtse Heide.

The eastern part of this is traditionally called Lieropsche Heide. Heather and juniper berries are planted in the dry places, heathen heather, pipe straw and bell gentian in the wet places. The heath is surrounded by forests, the area also has a large number of fens. The largest fen, the Beuven, is located in the Lieropsche Heide, the walking tour goes around this fen. Places of interest include the Hoenderboom boundary marker and the remains of the Dennenlust hiding camp. At the Hoenderboom boundary marker, the boundaries of five municipalities, Heeze-Leende, Sterksel, Someren, Lierop and Mierlo, came together for the municipal reorganization. What remains of the hiding camp is a masonry stove surrounded by the contours of the camp. The camp has provided shelter for about 30 people in hiding and 15 allied pilots.
