The Kruispeel.

In the recreation/nature area De IJzeren Man the hike goes along the beautifully situated fens de Kleine IJzeren Man, het Zwanenven, het Geurtsven and het Eendenven. De Kruispeel is a remnant of an extensive heathland and marshland landscape. The hike goes in the Kruispeel along the Tungelroyse Beek with alder and birch swamp forests on either side of the stream. The sand extraction consists of two ponds, part of the largest pond has now been developed as a swimming pond Het Blauwe Meertje. From a hill on the edge of the sand extraction area you have a beautiful view of the surroundings and the ponds. During wet seasons you should take into account that parts of the path through the newly developed area between the lookout hill and the Tungelroyse Beek are wet, waterproof hiking boots are therefore recommended.

Beyond the Kruispeelweg, a path is followed along a watercourse that is difficult to pass due to vegetation, especially in spring and summer. During this period, an alternative route can be followed.
