Schluchten path

This hike takes its name from three gorges in the Isle and Bitburg area. The deeply carved fissures turn red from the sandstone. Along the way, you'll get scenic views of the surrounding Enz Valley. Another highlight is the Tongrube Nature Reserve, a former clay mining area, where today a habitat for endangered birds, amphibians and reptiles has developed.

Lascheider Chapel.

The walk follows the Enz for a while before crossing the river over a beautiful bridge. You continue through a mixed forest to the Lascheider Chapel. From the chapel the route goes for a fairly long part through an open landscape with beautiful views of the Enz valley. The next part you walk through mixed forest through the gorges where, depending on the season, waterfalls are the eye-catcher. At the hamlet of Neuhaus, cross the B50 and walk back to the starting point.
