Falkenstein.

Haus zur Wildnis.

The unique architecture of the building alone is fascinating because it always offers a view of the 1315 meter high Falkenstein, even inside. The forest wilderness in the Bavarian Forest is the central theme of the exhibition. The root canal is particularly impressive. Visitors walk through the soil layers underground and discover the micro-organisms that live there.

Animal park.

In addition to lynxes and wolves, two former residents of the Bavarian Forest can also be seen: wild horses and old cattle. While wild horses lived in the post-glacial steppe landscape, ancient cattle lived in the Bavarian forests until the early Middle Ages. An almost three kilometer long circular walk, for which you have to take about one and a half hours, will guide you through all facilities. The area is suitable for prams and wheelchairs, even in the winter the paths are cleared.

Stone-Tone Hill.

There visitors are brought back to the paleolithic era thanks to the art-rock landscape and you can experience the changes in climate, landscape and nature from then untill today.

In the Haus zur Wildnis you can eat and drink.

Young visitors can enjoy themselves in every type of weather. In dry weather there is an adventure forest playground outside the house of the wilderness and in rain or snow there is the children's experience room.

Young explorers can experience the exhibition with the children's rally. There are tricky puzzles to solve. Anyone who solves the secrets of the forest will eventually receive a small surprise.
