Zwin dunes and -polders.

The walk starts at the new Zwin visitor center. The walk first runs through the 'Kleyne Vlakte' polders, crosses the 'Oude Hazegraspolder' behind the dike and runs along and through the 'Koningsbos' to Oosthoekplein. You continue along Wiedouwpath and Zenopath until you reach the sea dyke, where you follow the paved path until you reach the Zwin Expansion Zone. Here you have a beautiful viewpoint of the Zwin and the sea. The image with the jumping hare 'Hospitality' gives an extra dimension to this place. From there it goes back to the starting point via a second viewpoint.

POI 1 - Zwin dunes and -polders nature reserve.

With their 222 hectares, the Zwinduinen are the largest nature reserve on the territory of Knokke-Heist. The dune area consists of an exceptionally varied landscape with moist dune meadows, dune forest, dune straw and poor dune grasslands. Each of these biotopes has its own specific flora and fauna. It is an area that is completely different every season and where there are always different things to experience. Guided nature walks for the general public and for groups are provided in this area by the Natuurpunt department of Knokke-Heist.

POI 2 - Koningsbos.

This municipal forest, better known locally as' t Sparrenbos, was renamed Koningsbos on the occasion of the 25-year reign of Boudewijn. The forest covers a back of the Blinckaert dunes, a high dune ridge that reflects the sunlight and hence is called a "blinker" or "blekker". The central part of this dune forest is strongly wavy due to the many dune ridges and dune valleys.
