The Warche valley.

Once you are out of Bellevaux you will see a beautiful scenic landscape where bushes, hedges and meadows determine the view. You walk on paved roads through the hamlet of Cligneval to the Rocher de Falize. On the rock you have a beautiful view of the Warche Valley. You now descend via a steap forest path to the bank of the Warche that you follow for a while. The valley widens and you now walk on a wide dirt road along the edge of the forest to a bridge over the Warche. Cross the river and go under the E42 motorway to the next viewpoint, the Rocher de Warche. On the rock you get a nice view of the Amblève. You return via the same road until you are under E42 highway bridge. At the confluence of the Warche and the Amblève, which you cannot see by the way, you return to Bellevaux via paved roads. Just before you reach the starting point, you can enjoy a local beer in the local brewery and brasserie Bellevaux.

Two rocks

Well marked.

Due to the severe weather of 2021, part of the path next to the Warche is difficult to access. An alternative route was provided in the PDF.

Map & Poi's.

POI 1 - Rock of Falize.

From the rock of Falize, in French «Le Rocher de Falize», you can enjoy a wonderful view over the Warched valley. The rock, more than 70 m high and approx. 50 m wide, is made of quartzite. This rock is particularly hard and was therefore able to withstand the force of erosion and the waters of the Warche that made its way through the valley.
