The Green Valley.

You depart from the village square in Erps on a wide dirt road through the fields to the Grevelberg. The hill is not really noticeable, but you do have a view in all directions. Depending on the wind direction you will see and hear the planes that land over your head. Then you walk in the direction of the Torfbroek, this swamp is the oldest natural area in Flanders. The Torfbroek consists of ponds and wet grasslands with special plants. Be sure to deviate from the route here to walk on the narrow paths along the reed borders. From the nature reserve you walk on slow roads to Nederokkerzeel. Once past the church you walk into the Silsom forest, the heart of the valley around the Wees brook. The Silsom forest is a mysterious place where legends and nature are intertwined. The Zwarte Madam, a statue of Our Lady, is statically waiting for your passage at the edge of a sharp meander of the Molen brook under an ancient oak. The last part you walk back to the starting point on slow roads.
