This walk through the Prat de Cabanes - Torreblanca Natural Park goes along the coast to this valuable wetland. This former lagoon is known for the presence of numerous breeding birds, but migratory birds such as the Osprey also visit this area. Along the way you will pass ruins of Carabinieri barracks. Further inland you will become acquainted with how humans have been working this area for centuries.

Torre de la Sal.
The walk departs from the parking lot to the coast and takes you along a boardwalk to the Torre de la Sal, an old watchtower. A little further you arrive in the hamlet of La Torre de la Salle. The old colored houses stand out here. Unfortunately, residents have been protesting against the planned construction projects for a long time. Hopefully this lovely hamlet can continue to exist in its authentic form. A little further you walk into the nature reserve and follow the coast over an elongated beach strewn with boulders. You come to the ruins of Carabinieri barracks. Here you leave the coast and walk inland. Here you can see how people have been using this area for small-scale agriculture for a long time. You will pass a beautiful picnic area before you return to the route of the outward journey.
