To The Devil's Lake.

The walk leaves at the refuge Plete del Prat and goes first via a dirt road next to the ski lift in the direction of the Torrent de Mascarida. Soon the dirt road becomes a beautiful mountain path. The first part of the route runs parallel to the river and the cable lift. After crossing a ridge, the path curves to the Northwest and you reach the Pleta de Gavàs where there are still a number of dilapidated shepherd huts. After the plain you still have to climb a while before you reach the lake of Mascarida at an altitude of 2300 meters. Behind this beautiful lake the Devil's Lake is hidden. Who wants to do some extra altitude meters can opt for the climb of the Pic de Campirme at 2633 meters or the Pic del Forn at 2683 meters. You descend via the same route until you are back on the ridge. Here you can bend in the direction of the ski lift to return to the starting point via the ski slope and unpaved roads.

Marking: Yellow dash, sometimes somewhat sparse but never so bad that you can lose the way. On the plain of Gavàs you have to follow the little cairns, especially in the spring there is a lot of melting water all over the plain.

POI 1 - Estany de Mascarida.

The area is also freely accessible in winter because of the ski lift. The beautiful lakes are beautiful in every season but in the spring the turcoise water is truly breathtaking because of the fresh meltwater. A nice walk to discover the high mountains.
