Hezelaarsbroek and De Scheeken.

Soon after leaving the station, the tour goes through Stapelen Park with the 13th century Stapelen Castle. After following the Dommel, the hike continues to the German Line. A railway line that was opened in 1878, so that it could become part of the fastest connection between London-Berlin-St. Petersburg. What remains is a last remaining stretch of railway line between Boxtel and Veghel. Before the walking tour goes to Liempde via the Jans-pontje, a foot ferry across the Dommel, you pass the farm Het Groot Duyfhuis with a rather special pigeon tower and a cross-section barn from 1750. Such a barn was used as a granary. After Liempde, with a village center that has remained quite intact, the hike continues towards the Hezelaarsbroek and the Scheeken. The Hezelaarsbroek and the Scheeken are beautiful small-scale scenic landscapes that date back to the 12th century. There is a great variety of forests, groves, hedgerows, rows of trees, meadows and fields. Red deer were brought back to a fenced part of the Scheeken in the spring of 2017 by Brabants Landschap. The walk goes through the fenced area and with a bit of luck you will also see the red deer. Dogs are not allowed in the habitat. For walkers with a dog, an alternative is to go past the fenced habitat. After leaving the Scheeken, the tour takes you along sandy paths and quiet roads via the hamlet of De Vleut to Best. The hamlet of De Vleut consists of a number of scattered farms, including some beautiful long-fronted farms. In Best you pass through an elongated park, the Salderspark.
