The walk goes along the Olhadoko Erreka river to the spectacular Holzarté suspension bridge that spans the Olhadubi gorge. In Basque this means 'between walls' which is not an exaggeration. Along the way you walk through the forest and along the edge of the gorge to this must see if you are in the area.

Between walls.
The walk starts next to the Logibar inn. You cross the wooden bridge over the Olhadoko Erreka and follow the path that runs parallel to the river. You pass a waterfall and the path ascends through forest. The path is quite steep and the rocks can be slippery in places. A rope at the edge of the path can help you with this. Then the landscape opens up and you get a beautiful view of the green slopes. The path rises a little further and then descends to the suspension bridge that you can see from a distance. The 70 meter long bridge spans the deep Olhadubi gorge. The bridge hangs 150 meters above the gorge that has been carved out by the Olhadoko Erreka river for more than 80 million years. The view of the bridge is simply spectacular and breathtaking. A bit exciting when the bridge sways and creaks slightly, but don't worry, it is very reliable. You return to the starting point via the same route.

POI 1 - Holzarté suspension bridge.
This pedestrian bridge was built in 1920 by Italian sawmill workers to connect the two sides of the Olhadubi gorge, which was dug by the Olhadoko erreka river 80 million years earlier. Home to the largest beech forest in Europe, this part of Haute-Soule has long been a hotspot for logging. Now it is a hotspot for hikers.
