Los Acantilados

The senda de Los Acantilados follows the coastline for quite some time on the edge of the cliffs through the Natural Park of Oyambre. Before you follow the coastal path you have a nice viewpoint at the mouth of the Escudo. On the coastal path you can enjoy beautiful views and before you know it you are at the bay of Las Fuentes. The path of the cliffs.

You go from the fishing port in the direction of the mouth of the Escudo, on the way you pass the Iglesia De La Virgen De La Barquera. You are not allowed on the pier, but behind the small building you have a nice view point on the estuary, the Rosal beach and the Gerria cliffs. After that, you will embark on a short but steep climb that will take you to the visitor center of the Oyambre Natural Park. This center is definitely worth a visit. From the visitor center, walk next to the fence of a water treatment plant to arrive at the ruins of Ermita De Santa Catalina. A little further, go over a dirt road that later turns into a path. You descend to the coastline and now follow the coastal path with beautiful views. At the end of the path you come to the Bay De Las Fuentes and a little later you pass the beach of Las Fuentes. You now climb quite steeply over a paved road. You keep following the paved road until you reach the built-up area of San Vicente. You go through a residential area to arrive at your departure point.

Los Acantilados

Preferably do this walk at low tide because you get a better view of the jagged rocks on the coastline.
