VIEW OF THE AÑISCLO GORGE AND MONTE PERDIDO.
From Plana Canal the route descends through a valley and then climbs towards the Tozal de la Fueva which is rounded in an easterly direction. At an altitude of 1809 metres, at the ruins of an old shelter, you can see the Mondoto straight ahead. Via the Mallata Fueva pass you head towards Los Sestrales, which you can see from far away. On the right stretches the Cavallls ravine. You continue to climb and get your first view of the eastern walls of the Añisclo ravine. On the left you have a beautiful view of the Castillo Mayor and Peña Montañesa. In the background you can see the impressive massifs of Monte Perdido and Las Sucas. You cross Puntón Royo before reaching the top of Sestrales Alta at an altitude of 2101 metres. Here the panoramic view is truly unique. Alternatively you can go to the Sestrales Baja before returning to the starting point via the same route.
