Pre de Bar glacier.
This varied hiking trail takes you high above the tree line to the Grand and Petit Col Ferret. The paths to these passes run parallel to each other to Switzerland. You first walk from Arnouva to the beautifully situated rifugio Elena and then make a steep climb to the Grand Col Ferret. The path to the pass is part of the famous Tour du Mont Blanc. On the pass you have a beautiful view of the valleys of Ferret and Veny with the Paso de la Seigne in the background. Afterwards you go via a narrow panoramic path towards the Petit Col Ferret. The view of the Pré de Bard glacier is simply phenomenal. Just below the Petit Col you start a very tough descent for which some mountain hiking experience is necessary. After the descent you follow the wide unpaved road back to the starting point.
