The devil's table.

The first kilometer goes over a paved road, then it goes over a wide forest road until you reach the signpost: Schwieriger aufstieg zum Teufelstisch. And that this is, the climb goes up steeply over rocks and it is not always clear where the trail goes. You then reach the top of the ridge and are immediately rewarded with an unforgettable view! You follow the ridge until you suddenly turn to the Teufelstisch, or freely translated: the table of the devil. From here you follow the ridge and then it goes back down to the wide forest path. Follow the road that is partly the same as the way up until you come across a narrow asphalt road on your left. Along here it goes back to the starting point.

POI 1 - Teufelstisch.

According to a legend, the Teufelstisch served as a table for the devil's supper. The devil was chased away by the ringing of an afternoon's recluse. These peculiar rock formations, reminiscent of piles of mattresses or woolen bags, are based on the so-called 'woolly sacking' of granite: the random arrangement of the mineral grains of quartz, feldspar and mica and a dense internal network of meshes ensure that gaps occur everywhere. Weathering does the rest.
