To the Steinberg.

The walk starts through beautiful forest and then follows part of the sentier Hertzog, on this path you already have a beautiful view of the valley of Munster and the Black Forest. The path descends over the pastures of Wasematten in the direction of the Auberge Buchwald. From the inn you start the climb to the Petit Ballon at an altitude of 1272 meters. On the way you pass the ruins of an old German goods lift from the First World War. The route descends towards the Steinberg (1177m) which separates the valleys of Sondernach and Breitenbach. The path leads you through a chaos of natural “megaliths”. After the Grothkopf you get a nice view of the valley of the Fecht. You descend through the meadows and then ascend again along the flank of Steinberg via the Schoenenklang. Further on, the path descends to the Auberge du Kahlenwassen. Through an open landscape and a beautiful forest you walk to Schweng. From there it goes through forest back to the starting point.
