Source of Géronstère

A very varied hike through beautiful mixed forests, that follows the course of the streams to the heath of the moors of Malchamps. You can admire the entire landscape around Spa at that location. After a long walk on the heath, take small roads and paths to return to your starting point. The course will show you three famous sources: Barisart, Géronstère and Pia. The Géronstère source, discovered in 1599, was visited by many famous people, including Peter the Great.

The moors of Malchamps.

The walk leaves the parking lot of the Géronstère source and goes through beautiful mixed forests to the nature center of Bérinzenne. Then it goes via a few passages with wooden planks to the panorama tower. After enjoying the grandiose view you walk on wooden walkways through the heath. Via a pond and birch forest it goes in the direction of the domain of Bérinzenne. Then you will pass the Pia and Barisart source in order to reach the starting point again.

POI 1 - Source of Géronstère.

This source is located more than 400 meters above sea level and is fed by water that has gone through the underground depths of the Fagne Malchamps for decades. As a result, it has an iron-like and naturally gaseous nature at the source.

POI 2 - Panorama tower Bérinzenne.

The tower of 24 meters high is made of larch and lies at an altitude of 570 m. From the tower you have a breathtaking view of the Fagne Malchamps and the surroundings of Spa.
